Funding Guidelines
Our grants help organizations effect positive change in our community through support of programs in these areas: Immigrants & Refugees; Body, Mind & Spirit (invitation only); Arts; Environment (invitation only) and Family Recommended Grants. Please carefully read the general guidelines and areas that Marbrook Foundation does not fund, and the granting guidelines for each giving area to determine your organization’s eligibility for grants.
We review grant proposals twice per year:
Spring
- Immigrants & Refugees – Letter-of-Intent & Application Process
- Body, Mind & Spirit – By Invitation Only
Fall
- Arts – Letter-of-Intent & Application Process
- Environment – By Invitation Only
General Funding Guidelines:
- The Foundation will make grants to programs only in the seven county metro area (except for Environmental Grants)
- The Foundation will consider applications for:
- 501(c)(3) charitable and fiscally sponsored organizations
- General operating grants
- Capital campaigns
- Multi-year grants
- The Foundation accepts no more than one proposal per year from each organization
- After five consecutive years of giving to an organization, Marbrook will cease making grants to the organization for at least one year, per the Foundation’s phase-out policy
- Minimum grant size is $5,000 (except for Environmental Grants)
Marbrook Foundation will not support:
- Projects or programs providing arts access and/or education for youth as the primary activity
- Individual college and academic scholarships
- Programs that provide only ESL services
- Health clinics, health services and medical treatment
- Food shelves, food stamp or free meal programs
- Affordable housing
- Conferences and events
- Start-up organizations
- Grants directly to individuals
